"This society is a big hypocrite"
Khalilur Rahman Qamar Sahib writes that when I was young, I was very egoistic and despite my poverty, I never used to wear second-hand clothes. Once, someone gave a suit of clothes to Aba G as a gift so I said that I have to sew a coat from it. Abba G gave permission and from the half suit, I took a round-necked coat, which was very popular in those days.
After wearing that coat, I went to my uncle's house, and my aunt and cousins asked that: "Did you get the coat?"
I said: "Sawaya hai Chachi" but they didn't believe me, I even swore but they didn't believe me. I went to my aunt and uncle's house, so there was something like that. I came home and took off my coat and threw it away and started crying.
The circumstances were such that no one was ready to believe that even Khila could sew a new coat.
After reading, writing, and working, when I became a member of the board of directors of a bank, I went to a meeting of the board of directors wearing a well-cleaned woolen coat. My colleagues touched the coat and asked: "Khalil Sir, the coat is is very cute, what brand is it and where did you get it from? The stitching of the fabric is perfect.
I felt no shame and said: "Bhai Jaan I bought it from the old clothes market" but they did not believe, even though I swore, they still did not believe me. And now, instead of crying, I started laughing.
It is true that this society is a big hypocrite, it does not believe even the truth of the poor and puts the stamp of truth on the lies of the rich.
